Super User whitwolf Posted June 21, 2022 Super User Posted June 21, 2022 I have fish a lake 4 times this year that I had refused to fish since 1984. It's a tough lake to fish and clear water is not something I'm used to. With encouragement from my son-in-law and a good friend of mine I decided to give it a go. The first two outings were tough in that we only caught one fish and being out of my element it seemed like I had no idea of what to do. The third trip was a little better and the Father's day trip was really nice. I took a few small adjustments and the proverbial light bulb cut on. In a nut shell, I fished the way I wanted and stayed a little further off the bank. While nothing huge was caught we did manage 9. I believe I have found a new home lake and look forward to getting out there this week. 18 Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted June 27, 2022 Super User Posted June 27, 2022 Really clear water can be difficult, especially those with no or minimal vegetation. It will take time to learn but it seems you're already making progress. Learning such a lake is rather rewarding though! As a general rule of thumb, lean towards smaller baits when possible and more natural colors. 1 Quote
