Hey ya'll,

Yeah, I'm a fan of Nichols spinnerbaits. Have been for a while. Their 3/8oz frame is what I like the most. When get 1/2oz and above, the wire comes thicker and longer. I was just talking to Brooks over email about their 3/8oz frame, asking if it is the same regardless of blade combination. Come to find out, it is the same, and what's more, the wire used is a custom .035" Mustang wire, very high quality. The most successful spinnerbaits I've used have all been 3/8oz Nichols. Originally, I used a lot of their single colorados. But I put an indiana/willow hildebrandt blade combination on one of these frames and that spinnerbait has been beaten up this summer by bass and catfish alike.

The Nichols 3/8oz frame is very very compact. For comparison, a humdinger frame I have is almost the exact same. Humdingers are great too. But, for me, there is no comparison to the 3/8oz Nichols. I want them in business as long as possible so try em out. Stanley's are great also but I was fooling myself when I said that they were all I thought that I would get in the future.

Perfect, find what works and run with it. A 3/8 compact with a willow/Colorado is like the Swiss army knife of spinnerbaits.

I am having some of those made up custom. I prefer a larger willow blade than what comes normally with that Nichols. 4.5…. Coincidentally what you told me that you like, I think, in a colorado/willow. It’s almost like you know what you are talking about……

I've thrown Nichols for several years and love them for the reasons you've stated: compact and durable. They also have great colors and blade colors.
