What's Included:

Lowrance Hook2 5 Tripleshot unit and transducer (Ttripleshot means it has sonar, down scan, and side scan). Has basic GPS and plotting capabilities. There is an SD card slot. I don't think it has the contour mapping, but it does have US inland maps. I never used plotting and waypoints.

YakAttack Fish Finder Mount with Track Mounted LockNLoad Mounting System for kayaks (specific for Lowrance units)

Lowrance screen cover

Original box, instructions, power cable, and accompanying hardware. There is a chance some nuts and bolts that I did not use for my kayak setup aren't there, but it should all be there including the standard Lowrance mounting bracket that comes with the unit.

I purchased this one year ago as a factory refurbished unit, and to be honest it looked brand new. Not a blemish or a mark on it. It all looked brand new, like it was a display unit at trade shows. It's still in great shape. There are no scratches on the head unit or the screen.

What you will need for a kayak setup: Battery and battery box. Transducer arm is suggested. Note the picture below - this is a long transducer. I used a YakAttack Switchblade arm and attached it and the YakAttack fishfinder mount to a YakAttack CellBlok battery box and mount.

Why I'm selling: I'm getting older and my eyes are not as sharp as they used to be, so I bought a Humminbird Helix 7 so I have the larger screen and a few more features.

My experience with it: When I first started using this, I thought it was OK, but I also wondered if I really needed it. Part of the issue, I think, is that I fish on a featureless lake with very little vegetation and underwater structure.  Another issues is I initially lacked the patience to take the time and tweak things and experiment. I'd rather fish than punch buttons.  The side scan seemed useless as I really didn't see anything.

But then I tweaked the settings a bit and ventured to new areas of the lake, keeping the side scan on as I went from point to point. That's when I started seeing rocks and trees, and yes, I could even see some fish and their shadows on side scan. Sonar works as expected, but I typically fish shallow waters in my kayak so I used that more to look at depth and find baitfish. I never used the down scan imaging all that much because of the lack of vegetation where I fish, plus bouncing around in boat wakes seemed to distort the image.

I really like this unit, and found it to be a great starter unit as I got into electronics. But I really want the bigger screen and the enhanced clarity of my new Humminbird. But of course, there's a price to pay for that.

Selling Price: $300. I'll throw in basic shipping.
