This may be old news but , if you're on a new fishery and want to know which banks will be shaded at a specific time of day , there's an app called Photoephemeris that will tell you the exact angle of the sun at any time of day -  any time of year - and any location  world wide . It's free but you have to sign up with your email address . Just another tool that may help ??

Thanks for sharing. Boaters having the advantage of mobility don’t need to plan ahead like a bank angler does.

The app could help those on foot to be at the right place and time.

This might even help during the prespawn spawn when looking for areas that might be over looked and could be a hidden gem, or for folks new to a body of water too. I don’t think it’s a waste of time at all.

Thanks for sharing that information.  Some may use that info, some may not, but the sharing of fishing information is what is really important.  So keep doing what your doing and don't worry about what people think.  Just have fun doing it!

I guess it's not unusual for newbies like myself to get tired of asking questions all the time and want to try to contribute somehow . It makes it difficult to think about doing this when it's brought to light by more experienced members that your contribution is stupid . I'll continue to try to learn as much as possible here but , for now , I've learned at least one important lesson . Thanks for the help in the past and thanks in advance for the help in the future .

Nah, your one important lesson should be that most people responded with helpful information  

 

Someone posted a website recently that had a map with water temps for all the lakes, including different temps for different areas at different times of the day. Can't remember what it was.

That was me and it was Lake Monster.  Having used it more now I can say that it's not as useful as I originally hoped.  In the summer and winter, everything is either hot or cold.  But in the transition times, it could be helpful for knowing which lakes warm up (or cool down) first, and which side of the lake would be best to launch from.  But the information is usually at least a week behind.  So it's not the magic wand I was hoping it would be.  But it'll get some use.  

 

In any case, more information is always a good thing.  You may not need it, or even want it.  But the fact that it's available if you decide you do can't be a bad thing.  So thanks for sharing!  

 

I, for one, appreciate this information.  And while I probably won't be using this for fishing, I could see it being useful for one of my other hobbies, photography.
