Super User LrgmouthShad Posted June 18, 2022 Super User Posted June 18, 2022 Hey ya’ll, Wondering what you like to make up when you make your own keepers on jigs or hooks and such. Do you just superglue? Maybe wrap something around the hook? I’ve got some small jig heads that have no keeper and would like to add my own. Thank you for reading! Quote
heavyduty Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 I'll take a keeper that I use when I pour my own, cut off the bend that is poured inside the head. Dab of super glue on the hook shank, place keeper, a couple wraps of braid or 210 flatwax denier. Then I'll coat with Sally Hansen hard as nails. 1 Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted June 18, 2022 Super User Posted June 18, 2022 Sometimes I take a short piece of wire and wrap thread to hold it on the hook then glue it. Sometimes I use heat shrink tubing. 2 Quote
RDB Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 Just cut the weed guard off an old jig, use 1 of the strands and wrap it with thread (I use a bobbin). The keeper doesn’t need to extend a long way to hold the bait. Quote
