There are a bunch of clever people here that I bet have a neater and more organized way of storing garbage and recycling on your boat.  I like to have a place for everything and I think this is about my last frontier.

I'm just gonna put a couple small buckets behind the rear seat on the F-9 to start.

Maybe come up with something later.

I usually put my empties right back in the cooler and then take care of it when I get back home. I’m usually not out there long enough to generate a lot of trash though. I pick up any balls of discarded line I see and dispose of them properly later.

Like @gimruis I throw empties back in the cooler.   I use a large zip lock bag for other trash, line and used plastics.   I put a rock in the bag to keep it from blowing out.

I’m a hybrid of the above - I have an old Dick’s baseball bucket (3 gallon maybe?) that I keep my water bottle in - trash and cans go in int and I just pop the lid on. It also has a rock in it.

I take my water in a large Yetti cup.  I rarely eat while fishing so I don’t have trash.  Once in a while I have an empty super glue bottle.  I put it in the truck for disposal when I leave the lake.

Newer Rangers have a built in trash holder at the passengers feet.  My older Ranger I just use the cooler. I don’t put ice in it anyway.  I just make sure the plug is in so that nothing gets into the bilge.

I have knuckleheads leaving unattended jug fishing rigs floating free that I pull out. Pulled a tire and rim out last week that my trash man wouldn’t take. Luckily my local tire shop took it for me.

I just throw it all on the deck and remove it when I get home.

That’s actually a pretty good idea.

Here it is on a single console, I think it’s also on the dual consoles as well.  The front pulls out (hinge in on the bottom) to deposit trash.

I use my live well, I don’t use live bait or keep any fish. I clean it out later.

But the trash will get bagged and thrown on deck when I catch the record breaking Bass, LOL.

Thanks for the ideas guys.  I've been using one of my livewells, a zip loc, and an old 3600 as a combo, but it is a pain.  I'd love something more simple and effective.

I have a zillion plastic bags from food shopping. I'd get paper but they're useless now. Rrrrippp!

But I don't even use those. Speaking as a kayak user and not a boat, I just don't create trash. If I eat something I put the bag back in my food bag where it came from. If I open a lure I put the packaging wherever the lure was being stored.

I use thermoses rather than buying bottled water.

I guess I need to ask...what trash? If people create enough trash to need a trash system maybe they should rethink what they bring on the boat :)

Mine always contains backlashes, lure packaging, coffee cup, etc. plus what you find floating around, sometimes you need a barge and a roll of contractor bags .

also I believe the OP takes his family pleasure boating so I’m sure there are snacks and drinks

if I’m in a kayak, I’m going to have an empty beer bottle or two

Aluminum is not very magnetic.

Lately, I'm in a kayak.  The trash I generate is usually a couple of granola bars for when my BG gets low, some empty seltzer waters or gatorade bottles, depending on the day, there might be quite a few spent plastic baits, maybe some dull hooks, line cut-offs.  This all usually fits in a small Rubbermaid container.  The bottles go back in the cooler.

Line, used plastics, packaging, cans, etc.  It isn't much which is why I asked.  I don't like putting cans in the livewell because they aren't filled with just water, but only having a few at most now means they get crushed and have to be put somewhere.  Then there is the line when I take off i want it secured so it doesn't end up in the lake.  It isn't much of anything but I like to have it sorted so I can dispose of it properly and being it is somewhat diverse it isn't simple unless I just said screw it and put it all in a gallon ziplock to throw away.

Mostly what gets consumed on my boat is sparkling water in a hydro flask, but there is always some line, worms, ripped frogs etc.

I carry my snacks in Ziploc bag.  I put the trash back in bag and then force the air out as I'm closing it up.  It folds right down and I can keep it in the tackle bag for the rest of the day.
