Hello peeps, I just bought a new jerkbait rod and settled on a Dobyns kayden 610-4cb the struggle now is I need a reel, I was torn between A curado k and a 13 fishing concept a2. However, I found a curado dc for 200$. Does anyone own a dc, for me longevity is important and the dc seems like it would take away some of the durability. i have owned some older curados and loved them but the concept a2 looks sweet as well and I’m thinking about it for a jig rod reel with that 25lbs of drag. However I have heard the curado k feels more powerful bc of the gears. Does anyone own these reels if so do you prefer the dc or the k for lighter baits, have you had any issues with reliability on the dc, and what are the thoughts on the concept a2 ?

I have the Curado K and the DC. They are both great and I haven't had any issues with either of them. The DC is great for windy days and the K does ok but with certain baits the DC is amazing. It does feel a little bit smoother but is marginal. I guess if I was choosing I would think of the conditions I fish and choose the best braking option.

I've owned the DC and 200K a couple years and both have been reliable but not my light bait gear. Lighter baits I'd suggest looking at a Curado 70 MGL. Never touched a 13 reel.

My vote here, I love it and if we had Curado DC from 2015, I would have all my rods pair with it before I go to Metanium DC and Antares Dc (because of the cost). So get the DC and you'll be thanking me later. good luck.

I'd be looking hard at the Curado MGL 150.

It and the DC are on a great sale right now at Academy.

Would you pick the mgl 150 or the k 200 For throwing 110 size jerkbaits and rock crawlers

I’d pick the MGL 150 over the K for everything. Really over any other Curado period. Except MAYBE the DC, for people that like DC.

I’m also probably going to buy a reel for a 744 jog rod I ordered as well these deals are pretty sweet 140$ for a curado k is a nice deal I think I’m going to go with the mgl 150 for my jerk rod and a curado k 8:1 for my jig rod i Like the feel of a bigger wider spool with larger diameter line plus the larger the spool the more line you pickup on longer casts

I would get the MGL 150. It is so good. I still like my 200k for heavier stuff, but the MGL is superior in many ways to the K in my opinion.

Even for a heavy power jig rod?

The 200k won't do anything in freshwater fishing that the MGL 150 can't. You just get a smaller, lighter, more comfortable package with the MGL 150.

Definitely recommend the curado mgl 150, bought one and now have three lol  the curado k didn’t handle lighter baits well and was bulky when I tried one out for a bit.

Just got the MGL 150 myself from Academy for 20% off. Hoping it is as good as you guys say. I'm sure it will be.

I got mine yesterday that spool is fast man it is taking me a while to get adjusted to the braking system but as of now with 4 brakes internal and 6 external I’m throwing jerkbaits 40 yards on a no effort cast after I get everything tuned up and can bomb I’m expecting much more the reel is super quiet during reeling and feels really really powerful drag is nice and smooth and this feels like a much more expensive reel than the 150$ I paid on my academy sale wow

Put my MGL 150 on a Kayden 610 4cb to play around a little this evening. Man that pairing feels good. For anyone wanting the DC but debating the MGL spool, you can get the Scorpion DC which has the MGL spool. That MGL spool is so freaking good though. Not sure I can go back to not using one.
