I have a JDM Metanium and I'm thinking about getting one of these handles. Does anyone have any experience/feedback? It would look good with the cork on my NRX+, but I wonder if it is comfortable to fish.

First thing, you're leaving off handle length on the Gomexus.

Don't get hung up on the looks above the function.

(I know a guy who put a long Gomexus double handle on a low-geared spinning reel and couldn't keep up with charging trout and bass).

You tune handle length to gear ratio - longer handles are better on XHG and SHG gears, low gears need short handles.

Other than that, Gomexus makes a pretty solid part - good carbon handles, good knobs and bearings, etc.

@Rodney Smith

I would use a 105 mm handle with 8:1 gears or higher.

This is 105 mm Avail handle on my 8.5-geared Zillion.

I don’t have any experience with Gomexus but I am a fan of Hog Tech handles.

The one that fits the Metanium is the 7x4mm / 105mm.

7x4 is the right hole size, but if you're talking about the 20 Metanium MGL, I doubt that offset handle would fit its rather large and flat drag star. You'll have better luck matching a straight handle with that reel.

The folks at Geomexus say it fits, but you may be right. What would you recommend?

Go for it and like you said Gomexus says it will fit. The Met has a stock swept handle on it and the drag star ends are angled/cut not straight. Worse case you get a spacer or return the handle to Gomexus.

I have that handle.  Its awesome and it looks better on a shimano than the daiwa style carbon handle.

Do you seal the cork knobs with U40?  How is the quality of the cork?  I have used Jitai, Heighten, and GoMexus handles.  I really like the CF versions and you can even find adapters for Shimano 7x4mm vs. Daiwa/Abu 8x5mm size handles.
