Super User Darth-Baiter Posted June 12, 2022 Super User Posted June 12, 2022 Trying to avoid heat. (Failed btw). I fished a local river. I Made a fatal error. I found fish but relented to my friends pleads to, “ let’s go upriver where it’s really good fishing”. I left fish to find fish. Dumb. I got a few. I only brought lighter rigs. (Next time I’m bringing my punch rig). A BIG bass grabbed my worm and immediately dragged me into a tree. It got very tangled. I could see the big fish thrashing underwater. It finally broke the line and my heart. I would be lying if I say I didn’t think about handing my rod to my buddy and diving in to unhook it. It looked to be 6lbs. I did manage a 4.5lb…before we left to our dink-fest. ‘’when the sun came up, the heat came up. It got hot! And the river filled with weekend parties. Big inflatable swans, crying babies, dad’s flirting with younger ladies. We had to run the gauntlet of inner-tubes and paddle boards. (Lots of tiny bikinis:). i did dive off my kayak a few times too cool off. It allowed me to demonstrate my best walrus imitation as I got back into my kayak. ( I can still do it!). . oh. My newer kayak is scratched up! We had to portage our boats repeatedly. So much fun. I need to bring some cordage so I can tie my kayak to my belt. Lots of sections were wadeable. my kayak now has a patina. 12 Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted June 13, 2022 Super User Posted June 13, 2022 Did you have to pay extra to upgrade from a regular paddle to the 'Selfie-stick-paddle'? 5 Quote
