I've been doing well enough with Swim jigs, Keitech swimbaits and flukes that I've yet to throw my normal reportoire of baits. I've not thrown a Jerkbait, a Texas rig anything, a speed craw or a baby brush hog in 2022. Do you find yourself straying from baits that have previously been go to baits simply because what your throwing has been producing ? I've yet to throw a Ned or a buzzbait as well. This happens to me every year. I haven't been throwing the spinnerbait as much this summer because I have been killing them on the bladed jig. The spinnerbait was my go-to for years. 1 Quote

If the wind isn't blowing, I actually have eye contact with the bait all the way back to the boat...... when the bait disappears, set the hook. Lol Swim Jigs are all over the water column but on a continuous slow retrieve, running into stuff and most importantly, into fishes mouths. Jealous of you clear water guys. I'm happy to get 6 feet from the bank at Ray roberts 1 Quote

Many fishermen don’t like fishing clear water. And 6’ of visibility is pretty clear for a Texas lake. 1 Quote

I much prefer the clear lakes, my catch rates have generally been higher there though my bigger fish have been at 4-6'. My favorite lakes here are on the Brazos, and tend to be 10+ feet in most places. I find that more things can be effective since they're more visible. Makes it harder to fine tune what works sometimes, but when you do it's tremendous. 4 Quote
