ryanerb Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 Well a couple days into the tourney, I'm not seeing any other posts about this? Weird they have been drawing current but the ledge bite doesn't seem to be entirely materializing. Wheeler is resorting to dropshot all day today to make it to the championship. KVD won his group and is going straight to it. Overall, seems like many guys are struggling, I'm not sure what the issue is, maybe post spawn funk? Quote

Super User Tennessee Boy Posted June 8, 2022 Super User Posted June 8, 2022 Salzman is killing them. He may go from below the cut line to first in less than a hour. Quote

Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted June 9, 2022 Global Moderator Posted June 9, 2022 Returned to the water, followed the rule intentionally snagging bass isn’t possible in muddy water , mike long of so cal is the only person I’ve seen accomplish it 2 Quote

Super User WRB Posted June 9, 2022 Super User Posted June 9, 2022 It’s illegal to snag bass in TVA system, illegal catch regardless and shouldn't allowed as legal catch to weigh. It’s either legal catch or it’s not! Tom 2 Quote

It’s either legal catch or it’s not! Tom ?♀️ the MLF , the angler, and the TWRA understand the rule clearly. it’s not some TVA or Tennessee specific thing. In most states, there’s a difference in foul hooking and snagging I believe Steve Kennedy could have had this “snagged” California fish weighed by an MLF official 6-8 times in the amount of time he had it in the boat (32:40 mark) Quote
InfantryMP Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 I love how Mark Davis just casually sits down on the front of the boat, and drags a worm around. 1 1 Quote
TNBankFishing Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 The Bar is a relatively difficult place to fish, but the TVA system has it all. If you live in Knoxville or Oak Ridge you have access to so much fantastic water. It is nice seeing the pros struggle on the lake I fish for tourneys. I’m not the only one who’s skunked a fair bit out there. 2 Quote
Super User PhishLI Posted June 9, 2022 Super User Posted June 9, 2022 Salzman's going IKE out there. 1 Quote
ryanerb Posted June 9, 2022 Author Posted June 9, 2022 What do ya know, Wheeler is leading the pack. Dropshot out of all baits. The won't throw for most guys... How bout dat ned rig?! Maybe a shakey head? This lake is fishing tough... Quote
ryanerb Posted June 9, 2022 Author Posted June 9, 2022 And wheeler has a floatilla around him, lol slick calm out there, and kvd says no current. Quote
InfantryMP Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 It is very difficult to ever bet against Wheeler. He has adapted very well, and I think will be the next KVD as far as legacy is concerned. Quote
ryanerb Posted June 9, 2022 Author Posted June 9, 2022 It sure is amazing how Salzman is 110% reproducing Connells previous winning pattern on the face of a dam... 1 Quote
InfantryMP Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 It is going to be interesting to see if Wheeler has enough off shore compared to Salzman on the dam. I think Wheeler will run out of time this afternoon if he does not get a few quickly here at the beginning of the period. Quote

This is a good race! Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted June 9, 2022 Global Moderator Posted June 9, 2022 My cousin fishes a lot of small club tourneys on watts bar (3 fish limit). About five years ago, he said he wouldn’t even bother weighing the fish in unless he had 12-15 lbs for 3 fish. In the last year, he said 9 lbs was usually good enough for 1st or 2nd place Quote

Pretty crazy, but as you all know, I always root for the underdog! 2nd place for Wheeler is still pretty dang good! Amazing how tough of fishing it was for guys out there today, many didn't even get 5 scoreables! 2 Quote

That current will trump a blue bird sky Quote
