Sam5959 Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 I caught a bass and Got the hook out but I noticed another hook in its throat, I pretty easily got it out and there was some blood but only a drop. I released it and it was moving around fast but it slowed down and was just swimming at the surface for a while until it was out of sight. Did it survive? Quote
cadman Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 No-one knows for sure, however you can't save them all even with the best of intent. Best case scenario, turtles have to eat too. Quote

Woody B Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 I'm sure a few of the fish we catch and release on the spot die. I suspect that many more die that are hauled around in live wells all day, then released. Quote
