I prefer ECS with kdps. I've only used TVS with spinning rods. A word to the wise though, the fuji SK hidden thread hood is not compatible with the ECS seat. It won't go far enough down to lock in the reel. That mistake required some careful reshaping of the ECS. Oops. Fuji PTS looks good, but is too wide to be comfortable for me, and I find inserts to be pointless. The nice thing is that factory rods are built with all kinds of reel seats, so you can go to the store and hold them and figure out at least which ones not to use.

Yes, they are acrylic.

I prefer the Alps mvt seats. They just are a little bit sharper looking and slightly more comfortable, but are more expensive.

The ecs seats are awesome- I mostly build with them.

ECS is classic I use a lot of them. The ACS is love it or hate it, never heard anyone ambivalent on them. I use some seats with carbon inserts from Fuji and AmTack too. Fuji makes this micro trigger seat I keep looking at but haven’t tried: https://mudhole.com/collections/casting-reel-seats/products/fuji-pmts-micro-trigger-casting-seat

Any of you guys use the amtak blade or razor?  I’ve used plenty of the Fuji seats nut these amtak are new since I stopped building casting rods.  I’m curious how comfortable they are.

I wondered about them too. The apex 17 was considerably lighter than the very similar Fuji TVS 17 was I believe 5 grams heavier. They definitely don't APPEAR to be comfortable. Doesn't look like much to hold. ? I'd be interested in hearing about them.

Don't know about every seat made, but if you think about it why would you change the threaded portion on reel seats? They are every bit as well thought design as the other parts of the seat, they are a certain pitch and a bit sloppy when not in use on purpose, the pitch (angle) along with the looseness jam the threads when turned tight and than twist and ride up a bit on the threads further jamming the nut. By the way, I have taken a nut off another company's nut before and swapped it on Fuji, or other seats, guess they didn't want to reinvent the wheel either.

Some have taken the Aero style seat, turned it upside down and used it on flipping sticks before, others have used the Pac Bay Minima spinning seat upside down for the same type rod.

Just picked up a couple cheap CRB NTS seats. Think I am going to like them. Hopefully can start the build on Monday.

ECSM 16 with KDPS 16 hood.  Can be cut quite a bit shorter.

I don't know if it's better, but it is what the customer wanted.
