gunsinger Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 I wonder how this compares the red and yellow labels. Quote

I haven't tried it but a guy at my last tournament said he liked the new Basix. I tried multiple spools of Red Label and didn't care for it. It had all characteristics that I dislike about FC. I found Invizx to be the opposite. Great line. For the money, I might have to give Basix a try. Quote

Invizx is actually very good line though and easily worth the price hike imo Quote
Super User ChrisD46 Posted June 5, 2022 Super User Posted June 5, 2022 InvizX or AbrazX as main lines with Red Lable my go to leader line . Still , I'm willing to try this new 101 to see how it runs and if knots are strong . Quote
Craig P Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 I am a Sunline Assassin FC fan but I cannot deny that it is pricey so when I seen this hit the market, with marketing touting a reasonable price, I bit. I fished the 12lb size the other day and I really liked it. When comparing memory with Sunline just coming off the spool, the Basic was a little more straight, which I think is a good thing. I found no issues with knots and after dragging a jig a while, nicks were comparable to other lines. Basix runs just a little bit thicker lb for lb compared to Sunline Assassin FC so do take notice to that if you are finicky like me. I liked it so much that I also picked up a spool of 10lb that I will be fishing tomorrow on my Curado 71mgl. I do not anticipate any issues as it's diameter is just a tad larger than the Sunline 10lb size that I was previously running. At it's current price point, I suggest giving it a run. 1 1 Quote
Craig P Posted June 6, 2022 Posted June 6, 2022 Just a follow up. I fished the 10lb version today and I was as impressed as I was with the 12lb version. If I had to be extremely and I mean extremely picky, the sensitivity may be a tad less than the Sunline Assassin I mentioned in my last post. Not enough to make me spend more for Sunline. Overall strength is impressive, I was Ned rigging today and snagged a few branches but dragged them to the side of the boat without issue. 2 Quote
