Super User Boomstick Posted June 8, 2022 Super User Posted June 8, 2022 I have found it's gotten better recently than the past couple of years at least. At one point I had a wish list of like fifty or more items and all but three were on backorder. Quote
Super User PhishLI Posted June 9, 2022 Author Super User Posted June 9, 2022 Just got this email. So, finally shipping 9 days after the order was placed. Probably won't actually ship until tomorrow. Asinine, and I ordered some of those all-in-stock specific baits for a lake I plan on, or now had planned on, fishing this Saturday. WoW. Awesome. . Quote

I find their "exciting news" emails vaguely annoying. I pay them money, they ship the corresponding product(s). Many other vendors can do that too. What is "exciting" about a routine product purchase transaction? What hyperbole! 1 2 Quote

Yes, agreed it's hard to get excited about products shipping out a mere week or so after order. If they want to trigger some "real" excitement, shipping out product the same day I order would do it for me. ? 3 Quote
Kelvin Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 I order JDM tackle all the time now since I want throw something a tad different than whatever everyone is throwing and bc TW took a month to get here. Japan domestic lures arrive faster than TW. They better get their act together. Quote
Super User NorthernBasser Posted June 10, 2022 Super User Posted June 10, 2022 TW put this out yesterday. Not sure if it's legit or made up to get people to chill out. I find it interesting tho because the order I placed (May 30) had about 40 items. 10 of the items arrived yesterday and the rest hasn't shipped yet. And the ones I received came from the CA facility (where the outage was supposedly at), so... Quote
WVU-SCPA Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Method to my madness. Buy tackle warehouse gift cards in December at 10% off. Do 2 bulk orders of the items I primarily use a year. Line, terminal, ect. Have a nice storage space setup to see what my inventory of each item is. Use the local maw and paw store that has a excellent selection to get through the summer for anything I feel lacking. Also use a few other places like Siebert's to fill out the needs. Headed into summer where I'll fish 2/3 times a week and 8-10 tournaments I shouldn't need to buy much. Quote
ironbjorn Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 Just kidding. So this is a TW order. I've found that if you choose express delivery (meaning you're going to pay $$$), your order arrives on time. If you don't choose express delivery, or take their free shipping on orders over $50 offer, it seems like you get put on the back burner. Always choose in stock items as well, for the whole order (good luck on that). 2 Quote

Ordered afternoon of 6/8. Shipped 6/10. Arrived 6/14. 2 business days. I'm in MD, assuming it shipped out of the GA facility, but I'll take those results. Feel like I've gotten lucky more than most and the consistency, or lack thereof, from user to user is what's confusing. 1 Quote

LonnieP Posted June 16, 2022 Posted June 16, 2022 I placed an order with TW this morning and received an email at 3 saying everything had been shipped. I’ve placed multiple orders the past few months and haven’t had any issues. Quote
ironbjorn Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 I got hit by one of those undesirable "employees" I brought up earlier on. It was bad enough paying for Next Day Air on a rod and getting it 2 days late, but then to see whoever packaged it didn't tape down the ends of the tube and both were cracked open was irritating. Then to see that the rod also wasn't secured to the tube like they normally are and was freely sliding around in there is a sick feeling. The rod is in one piece but if it snaps when I take it out, I know why. Sometimes some things really aren't on a company but on the imbeciles they trusted to do things the right way during a labor shortage. 1 Quote
Super User gim Posted June 22, 2022 Super User Posted June 22, 2022 @ironbjorn what you describe is exactly why I purchase all of my rods in person instead of having them shipped. I'm anal about their condition and I have full control when I pick one out in the store and bring it home. Quote

Not that it solves your legit frustrations but unless TW has changed their return policy, they have one of the most generous policies I have ever seen. I had 3 rods I purchased from them 3-4 years prior and broke the tip on one and an eye on 2 and they allowed me to return, no questions asked. Didn’t even have to provide a receipt…they just looked it up in their system. I haven’t purchased from them in some time because I can get better deals on the rods I buy elsewhere. However, the policy is almost enough to get me to pay more to buy from them. 1 Quote
Super User NorthernBasser Posted June 28, 2022 Super User Posted June 28, 2022 TW has kind of taken a beating in this thread. So I think it's only fair to give some good pub when it's warranted. I placed a decent-sized order (standard ground) on June 22, including some rods. So a rod tube and a box. It shipped out the following day and I received it on June 27. Late last night I placed an order. Half of the order shipped out this morning already. 3 Quote
Gera Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 They got me back with their 15% off valid on a couple of exprides. with that and a few bucks I got as credit card cashback bought two of them under $180 a piece. Quote
TNBankFishing Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 I won’t support a company who constantly takes over a week to ship orders they show as in stock. TW will never get another order from me because they aren’t dependable. Omnia, TTT, The Hookup, Digitaka, and many more don’t give me the headaches TW does. The fact they don’t do any sort of return buyer points, promos, or early access is the nail in the coffin. Quote

Abby Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 Used to be die hard Cabelas fan. Have over $1000 in points I cant even find anything to burn it on. Been using Scheels, Fishusa, TW, even Walmart with no issues. Academy is awesome most of the time too. I did just buy a 1 piece st croix rod from Sportsmans Guide but unfortunately it arrived as a 3 piece. Poorly packaged Ugghh. 1 Quote

Still waiting on a rod that showed in stock during the Memorial Day sale. Says in stock right now.....apparently TW and I have different ideas about how long you should sit on 'In Stock' items that have been paid for. Its a backup rod, if I *needed* it you can bet I'd have a refund already. As it stands they can take their time and as soon as (if?) I take delivery they can consider that the end of any business they'll be receiving. Quote

Super User Boomstick Posted July 1, 2022 Super User Posted July 1, 2022 I got my kid a spinning setup for his birthday and got it from Omnia Fishing. They gave me 10% or 15% off (can’t remember) for my first order and the rod arrived two days later and the reel the day after that. They don’t have the same selection but I will be using them for some of my future fishing needs for sure. Also tackledirect and tackle supply depot have been good. 1 Quote
