PTG Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 anybody got any good ideas for a replacement of the rubber cap on these switchs hate to have to keep buying new switch for such a little part? Quote
Red Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Bottle cap? It might be a little big though. Or maybe one of those little rubber caps that are sometimes found on the foot of a chair or table with metal tubing for legs. Quote
salmicropterus Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 The problem is getting the exact degree of elasticity on the side walls of the cap-too much and it doesn't have enough "spring" to it and it engages the button. I would love to hear a solution as I go through about 5 of these a year. These things are crud compared to a couple years ago. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted June 29, 2010 Super User Posted June 29, 2010 How about this, take the torn piece, put it on the button, then put a thin layer of Shoe Goo on top of that with some of it attaching the top to the sides. If you buy a new switch, put a thin layer of the Shoe Goo on it before you use it. Quote
