I was looking online today for boat nets and see that things have changed a bit in this department since I last bought a net years ago. I expect the net to be used mainly for bass but an occasional muskie is possible. What I saw that I like is a foldable net that is 18" diameter with a 44" long handle. The nice thing is the net folds making it easy to store till needed. I saw some information about knot-less nets and  different shapes for certain species but does anyone really use multiple nets or just one for the main fish you usually go for?

I have the Hibernet and it is not large enough or strong enough for a musky or even a large bass.

The flimsy hoop makes it a challenge to land even a mid sized bass.

thats the reason o didnt get the Hiber-net. i wanted a net that i could put in my rod locker and then pull it out and use it for Musky. but looked like it wasnt big/strong enough. so for now looks like im getting a stowmaster soon. i havent found any other choices soo far.

i like the idea of any collapsing net that i can get out of my way. if that net is big enough for you go for it. the price is right for sure. thats not big enough for Musky tho. i'd only have a net out for those guys. other than that i'd lip, swing, or grab at the boat.

I can tell you about the Cabelas link folding net too,. I have two of them in different sizes. At best they are limited to pan fish and are designed for small trout. They have a belt clip on the handle. Pretty pathetic for more than those uses.

Of the three mentioned the Stowmaster is far superior to the other two for any serious work.

I recently bought the stowmaster. I had a hard time convincing myself to pay that much money on a net, but after i tried some other collapsable nets in the store and they fell apart in my hands, it was an easy decision.
