Super User DitchPanda Posted May 30, 2022 Super User Posted May 30, 2022 So last night around 7 my lady informs me that she can't pee..her bladder is full but nothing comes out. She called a nurse friend of ours and she suggested we go to the ER. We get there and the nurse tests her urine...no infection..she has no pain or blood so no sign of stones of any sort. Have you have a catheter recently? Nope. Have you switched medication recently? Nope. Any history of bladder problems in your family? Nope. They ended up putting in a catheter so she could "pee" so to speak...gotta see her primary doctor tomorrow. Assuming we will end up at a urologist. Just weird how it came on so suddenly with no pain or symptoms. 5pm can pee normally..9pm hospital. Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted May 30, 2022 Super User Posted May 30, 2022 Something about fishing a long flaxen fly on a gravel brook in a reduced current, but I just don't have the heart. Hoping for a good outcome. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted May 30, 2022 Super User Posted May 30, 2022 If she were a guy, I'd say have her prostate checked. Hopefully they can figure it out and it's no big deal. Quote
Super User Bird Posted May 30, 2022 Super User Posted May 30, 2022 My wife use to get bladder infections all the time but that was when we were young and I made her drink beer with me. Did they prescribe anything to her ? Quote

Super User GreenPig Posted May 30, 2022 Super User Posted May 30, 2022 My sister had bladder lock when she went out on a 8 hour saltwater guided trip. Giude told her it wasn't unusual in women when the water was rough. Hope it's a simple fix. Quote

Super User DitchPanda Posted May 31, 2022 Author Super User Posted May 31, 2022 So she went in and saw her doctor today...still no kidney or bladder pain, no blood in the urine and no infection. Doc took the catheter out and wants her to try it...see if it was an isolated incident. She was warned that after removal it can be hard to urinate the first few times but she's gone normally twice now no issues. Here's where things get interesting. She told me that she had this happen one time last summer or fall not as bad as this but noticeable. Both times she had bud light hard soda. So I look up the ingredients...several artificial sweeteners that she doesn't normally ingest. Got me wondering if her bladder was having some kind of allergic type reaction...for lack of a better term...to those nasty chemicals. I could be wrong but to me once is a fluke, twice is a pattern. There's stuff in those sodas she doesn't usually have and that's the only times she has had these issue's. Maybe I'm just hoping that's what it is. 1 Quote
