Hi I’ve finally decided on a 744 champ hp full handle but the extremes aren’t that much more expensive lol how much more of a difference is there between the 2 I’ve heard amazing things of both does anyone own both and can shed some light on the differences

Imo the champ 744 is more similar to the extreme 745 than the extreme 744.  The 745 has good power but still has a soft tip.  Bite detection is good with either series.

Is the 745 too heavy to cast weightless, Senko, ikas etc, i thought the 744dx felt light.

DC744C is H Exrta fast DX is H fast.

XFast tip loads faster vs Fast longer tip action, power is the same.

Go with the 744, great Senko/Ika rod.

Yea that’s what I got! I think it’s the heavy action label that confuses me. But that’s just where it falls in the Dobyns series of rods, they’re light! Thanks
