Was a slow spawn this year with yo yo-ing temperatures.  Caught two 5s on Thursday in the cooler weather but lost a potential double digit at the bank.  Went back today to avenge my loss but didn’t have my scale. How much do you think this one weighs?  Was chunky.  I was thinking in the 6 to 8 range

Maybe im crazy and underestimate bass weights but for some reason when I catch fish that big I think they are 4lbers, maybe its just because im in california so ive become jaded and numb to catching fish that big, My pb was proably closer to what you mentioned but im conservative and just say 4 XD, but whenever I pull out the scale on occasion it changes my mind lol. In surfing out here in the coast we always say 4ft Hawaii is 20ft Sandiego lol, its just a cultural and regional thing i guess.

The best $0.99 you’ll ever spend. This and a pic of a relative weight table on your phone, and you’ll always be golden. Guessing weight from pictures is an effort in futility. Looks like a nice fish though.

If you're 6' tall 190, maybe 5, or a shade less. If you're 6'9" 245, then maybe 7lbs ish. You'll never know. Nice fish regardless.

Not gonna guess.

I bought my Strike King digital floating scale for $10. I test it all the time weighing stuff around the house for backpacking etc, and it's within an ounce every time, usually right on.

When I watch my old videos I comment back out loud the correct weight sometimes:

Video: "That's gotta be oh....3.5 pounds"

me watching later "3 or so"

Video: "Cool it's a pound and a half"

me later : "3/4 tops dum dum, geez who is this guy?"

Caught this one yesterday, too-- probably weighed about 3 pounds.  The other one I caught Thursday with a scale and it was close to 5 (haircut on the day in between).  I felt like the one I caught yesterday was much bigger than the 5 but the pictures didn't reflect that.

I got tired of my digital scales running out of batteries or taring weight when I didn't want to tare.  Went old school with a Rapala mechanical grip scale.  Took it to the supermarket when I got it to verify accuracy on produce.

Another close to 5 on Thursday.  Purple Yum dingers were tearing them up.  All big'uns-- no small ones.

Nice fish.  It doesn't matter what it weighs as long as you had fun catching it.  I'd say it's 15 pounds, as long as it was 15 pounds of fun catching it.

Same pond today-- 4 nice fish in an hour.  I think I'll start leaving the scale at home more often.  There's something liberating about just throwing a pack of stick worms and a few hooks in your pocket and just keeping it light. Today's stick worms (red and black) were a different color than the other day (light purple).

One of these fish was my 300th bass of the year.
