This may be a stupid question but I don't fish the wacky rig as much as I want but when I do I've been using the field and stream wacky tool with the o rings it comes with, only problem is these things are ridiculously tight to make the X on the worn and when I do after a few casts the senko begins to rip like pic below. Anyone know any good size o rings I can get that won't have this problem? I can't seem to find anything anywhere at my local stores besides the field and stream models.

Take one of the o-rings with you to the hardware store - get a bunch of the next size up for a lot less than the 'dedicated' wacky rings.

That's good advice.  Unfortunately for me, I like to use the o-rings that have the hook loop attached which rotates the hook 90 degrees vs the plain o-ring so I am constrained to use dedicated fishing o-rings instead of the more cost effective hardware store type.

Ya - maybe next year I'll 'upgrade' to the VMC Crossovers...

I use 1/4” I.D. O-rings on my WR. No tool required.

Why ? Hooksets are fine with the plain o ring. I use the ones that come with the tool bps sells.

Don't know who you are directing your comments towards.  I have no issues with senkos ripping.

Some may call it snake oil but I use the VMC crossover rings and pliers, simple and convenient.

Never could get two Orings to make an X without swearing.

I confused you with the o.p. who was ripping them.

The walmart here sells the blue wacky tool with #10 rings. I had the same as you,but gave it away. Pick this up as replacement. Wasnt impressed with the rings from f&s. May have been really old rings?

I got them to try out this year but have yet to try them.

I am really happy with these, tho.

What size of those mustad o rings would be good for 5inch senkos? Medium or small?

my educated guess would be "medium"

My experience is that mediums are perfect.

You can do the same thing using two o-rings. You cross them, put the hook under where they cross. The hook will stay perpendicular to the worm

You can get 100 o'rings on Temu for $1.88 CAD (1.36 USD). You likely won't beat that price at a hardware store, and certainly won't beat that price at a fishing or sporting goods store. I also bought ChatterBait knockoffs for about $2 each (they come in packs of 4 and 5) from them. I bought a pack, I've had great success with them.

I swear by the VMC rings. Just downsize the recommended ones are too large.
