A very sturdy rod tube IN a cardboard box WITH paper packed around it.  My Cashion Icon spinning rod was snug as a bug.  I guess Midway USA has gotten sick replacing rods because the shippers all care not-at-all?

That’s a huge improvement over the way they sent my IRod Fiber rod.

Never ordered from them again after the way the rod was bent in the broken shipping container that arrived.

Makes me feel confident my MWUSA-ordered rod will come in one piece!

The square carton prevents the round rod tube from rolling halfway off the conveyor.

For multipiece rods, the triangle tube the post office gives away works even better.

I've shipped dozens of valuable rods properly packed (in a rod tube) inside Priority Mail triangle tubes and never had one damaged.

I just received a JDM Megabass rod that came in a hard PVC tube.  I think you could have ran over it with a car and not damaged it.  I have had nothing but positive experiences with JDM purchases.

You really think two layers of cardboard are the answer to conveyors and forklifts?

I've seen guys wreck forklifts sooooo probably not...

Anyone here remember Sports Authority? Anyway, right before they went bankrupt I ordered a rod from them at a great price. It came in a very flimsy 2 piece square cardboard tube that was taped in the middle with one layer of scotch tape. I could actually see about a 2 inch section of the rod and I thought, no way is this not going to be broke. However, all was good and I still have the rod. Didn’t have a clue they were ready to go under or I’m sure I wouldn’t have ordered.

I like this a lot.  the round tube is so robust on it's own.  it is actually hard to recycle.  I cut mine down and stuff it in the blue-bin.  I square tube..anti rolling.  I like it.
