Before dropping $100 on the switches I went ahead and read the reviews.  Even on Minn Kota's site directly they are pretty bad.  Connectivity issues and even worse some say you can't use your feet to press them but only your thumbs.  Does anyone have these and do they work ok?  I'd love to have a set up by my trolling motor pedal that I can press on when I hook a fish...

Mine works fine, no problems. Needs a healthy tap to activate but that's just the way the stomp buttons work.

I'm guessing some of the problems people may be having is from not pushing directly down on the top of the switch, i.e. when their heel is on the deck and they are trying to activate with just a tap from their toes.

I always lift my foot so it goes directly downward on the switch.

My Minn Kota Talon foot activated switch is circa 2016 - works fine.

If you've seen any of my videos,

I'm stomping on that thing several times a trip.

Hanging tough.

Given the size of those kickers your sporting,

consider giving yourself plenty of relief room around the switch

to get that U-boat in there to activate it.

Good Luck

A-Jay

Perfect, thanks guys.  When there are only a couple reviews and all negative it made me wary.

Wow, Deephaven, that is BIG.  My size 14’s are a pain to find footwear, I can’t imagine 16’s.   I bought the stomp switches, but haven’t installed them yet.  Waiting to see where my big feet like to position themselves so I know where to put them.  Should get them put in this week I hope

As my dad said at least a 1000x.  It takes a bigger foundation to hold up a skyscraper than an outhouse.  Although frequently he updated the "out" to a fecal replacement.

Funny turning into my dad as I get older.  A-jay's uboat reference is funny as most just call them waterskis.  At least being 6'7" they are somewhat proportional.

Haha.  I have size 13 and mine get called that too.  Or clown feet.

Holy cow - I didn't even notice that when you were here, Sean.

And here I though my 10 EEE's were flippers.

Holy cow. Do your shoes come with back up warning alarm or turn signals.?

And lovely.  My talon came with a seized adjustment screw which then broke the bracket.  Have to do an exchange so it will be another week.  :(
