5/0 Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Wouldn’t line diameter factor in as well? Allowing you to fish a higher test with a diameter equivalent to a lower test line? 1 Quote

I think he's just using the lb test numbers (8,10,12) as a point of reference. The point is that larger lines and different types of line can affect the action of the lure. Most experienced people know that, but good information for those that dont. 1 Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted May 22, 2022 Author Super User Posted May 22, 2022 I think he's also saying they don't pay attention to line anywhere near what we think they do. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted May 22, 2022 Super User Posted May 22, 2022 I think he just said everything I have been saying for years about line..... It's a tool. 1 Quote

A lot of marketing jargon confuses a lot of folks. Quote
5/0 Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 Understand all the points made, but when does diameter come into play? A fishing buddy swears by 6# test in the clear waters we fish, I’ve used 8#. The difference in our lines is .001”. Is that enough to make a major difference in catching fish? Quote

Did you watch the video ? Line diameter comes into play with lure action and type.Acording to his first statement I really don't think .001 inch means a thing. The first thing he said was not to choose line by how invisible it is. Quote
5/0 Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 Yes I watched, but he references test not diameter. That’s okay, I do agree with the points he makes. Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted May 23, 2022 Super User Posted May 23, 2022 Hahahahaha!!!!! So you are telling me fish aren't line shy? Meaning, I can get bit just as much on braid? NO WAY!!!!! Quote
