Sign up on their email lists. They send out a tickle when their sales come up. Sometimes before the greater public sees it on a site banner.

Ok. Not sure about finding the STX. I think it is being fazed out.  I remember them being on clearance last year, both casting and spinning. I can say this, the STX casting was one of the worst reels I have put my hands on. The spinning is of course totally different but I think the casting tainted the Gen 4 reels in the STX line.  On a side note, I have the Gen 4 Winch. Great reel.  I can't figure what made the STX such a dog when the Winch is so great.

Have you fished the Fantasista X? The reel seat is really weird to me at a $300 plus rod. Not knocking it. I have a Fantasista Regista 7' M Fast.  I paid less than half of the retail price for this rod but overall it's great. I don't care for the grips though but it's not a huge deal.   I just don't think it's worth the full price.

There is a 15% code for Omnia > OMPUNCH22MAY. It should work for Abu stuff.

I have a Fantasista X casting rod paired with a Revo MGX that I love.

Never tried the spinning version.

Thanks a ton for the link!!!

Abu's Fantasista line of rods have consistently been in the top 5 of nearly every fishing tackle reviewer sites I've read, and I can honestly say that my Fantasista X casting rod is the lightest, most sensitive rod I own.

Throwing a reel suggestion at you..... It may be a few bucks more than what you want to spend but it's a good one and a great price. I considered one last year when I picked up a Shimano Vanquish.  It feels awesome in hand and is as smooth as some higher priced reels...... Daiwa Luvias LT2500. You can pick it up from Asian Portal for $237 (they might add a few bucks for a service fee though).  It retails for $350 US.

I hope it doesn’t come across as trying to change the OP’s subject—but since I saw a reel on the TW sale linked above, I thought it may be appropriate to ask about it, here.

They’re selling the Duckett Paradigm SB 2500 on there, but I can’t seem to find any reviews on it. Can anyone speak to its merits?

Link’s dead now, too, so they must have realized it posted prematurely.

I put about 20-35yds of mono backing and then filled it with 16lb Sunline X-plasma with a 10lb Seaguar Gold Label leader.  I am not a big fan of braid but I have had great success with line combo.
