Had a work stop at a pawn shop today, and had to check out the fishing stuff of course. I had been wanting one more casting combo and the Crush caught my eye. A friend had one and really liked it. It’s a 6.10 MH fast tip rod , . Felt great. Nice for once to have a reel that is balanced with the rod and has the same orange color.

Amazon lists it for 139.95. I’m paying 70.00 for this one , and it looks like it’s brand new.  Put 40.00 down and will pay it off after my next check.( Somehow I don’t feel as guilty doing it that way )

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has fished them and has any feedback…

My BIL has one and I used it a few times. I would would use "decent" to describe it also. I think he paid $200 for it when they first came out. At the price you are paying, I would call it far beyond decent. The reel was finicky, but will absolutely bomb when you finally get it dialed in. He loves the giant round knobs on it, I hate them, but this is completely a personal preference thing.

The rod is solid, it won't blow you away with its sensitivity but it definitely isn't dead. Neither of us had any trouble feeling or catching fish with it.

At $70 and in the condition you described, it is a great deal.

I worked on a few of those reels. They’re decent, but don’t like salt/brackish water.

I’ll never use it in salt- got plenty of other combos for that.

My friend could just flick his wrist and get 125+ out of it, even with a smaller bait…

My son bought himself one last year and loves it. I’ve tried it a few times and it’s a pretty good combo. Like previously mentioned once you get it dialed in you can launch a lure pretty far.

I like the way it grips too, and the big handle grips. It had the exact specifications I was looking for, which is hard for me to find . I have spent hours looking at combos and something was always off- that’s why I feel like this was a good find. I saw it , picked it up, did a false cast or two,  Engaged the reel a couple times- looked at the specs- got the price - sold.

Well , I got the combo yesterday. Caught a nice fish on it already. I’ve already got it dialed in perfect.   Getting 125+ out of it with a weightless fluke and dinger. Has good sensitivity-I could feel the tap with a big bow in the line from the wind. Handles great , casts great,Sets great  fights great- Loving it.

Realized today it’s not a mach but an exfinity. I dont think it had ever been used once before going to the pawn shop. I know it’s a lower priced combo for most of y’all, but it’s an upgrade for me!

At $70 you basically got the rod for nothing, good find.

Me likes all my Lews combo's.

When I was down at the local fishing pier one night, a kid had one like the one in the pic you just posted, and was learning to cast it. He was having trouble backlashing, so I offered to adjust it for him.

I took one cast with it to see what was happening and it easily launched out there quite a ways. He asked me what I did to it. "Nothing." Showed him how to use his thumb over it and he was off to the races.

I never had the Crush, but I had a Mach II Plus that was my favorite combo for a number of years. But ever since I started buying Shimano Curado's (K, MGL, and DC) I've never looked back.

But that Lew's combo was my favorite for a few years.
