That looks like it’s basically supposed to be a swim jig. What do you put it on, usually?

Not the OP, but I have those grubs and I would recommend a jig head or they work well Texas rigged

It is a smallmouth slayer and ranks right up there with a tube in effectiveness.  Normal way to rig is on a 1/4oz football head jig, hook exposed and worked just like a tube.  I have used a screw in bullet weight and 4.0 Gamakatsu EWG hook Texas rigged to pitch at beds and punch.

The Hula grub was called a spider jig out west before Gary Yamamoto modernized it by combining the spider skirt and twin tail grub into 1 piece a jig skirt and trailer.

Post spawn the Hula grub slip shot rigged is deadly p, looks like a school of fry.

Before the Yamamoto buyout, you could also buy the skirt separate from the twin tail to customize them color wise.  I’m not sure that option is still available.

GYCB stopped offering the skirts about 2 years ago as I recall. I cut the skirts in half and welded to worms and other grubs for years. Still have a few bags.
