Fred Allen Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 Got this bass this morning. Was killing it 20+ bass and this was biggest. Other biggest was 20.50 inch and many many 18-20 inch. So I did not bring a scale only a measure. This fish is 22.50 inch long. I did not even think they got this big here. It was unreal to me to catch this fish!! So 22.50 inch can you figure how much he weights? 7 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 13, 2022 Super User Posted May 13, 2022 6 lbs Maybe, but it looks post spawn and might be a little light. Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted May 13, 2022 Super User Posted May 13, 2022 I 2nd that. Mid 5's 6 at most. Got a lot of head but not much body. 1 Quote

Smells like fish Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 Just shy of 6… was a beauty before the spawn I bet Quote
Super User Bird Posted May 13, 2022 Super User Posted May 13, 2022 If the fish was 22.50" long that's a 6.1 Prespawn that fish went 7.2 Great fish regardless ? Quote
Super User Koz Posted May 14, 2022 Super User Posted May 14, 2022 Nice fish, no matter what it weighs. Congrats! Here's a tip the next time you don't have a scale: 1. Cut a piece of fishing line the length of the fish. 2. Wrap fishing line around the fish and cut it to get the girth of the fish. 3. Use this handy calculator to estimate the weight: https://www.bassresource.com/bassfishing/fishcalculator.html 2 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 16, 2022 Global Moderator Posted May 16, 2022 I caught a 22" fish last fall that was just a shad shy of 7, but it was much thicker than that fish appears to be. I'd say the guesses around 5.5-6 are probably pretty close. Quote
schplurg Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 Get a cheap scale. You'll catch a bigger one soon. I always have a scale with me. Quote
