DN3 Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 What colors do you guys all like for buzzbaits ? Currently don’t have any but was thinking black or black and blue and white/chartreuse??? Quote
Super User Mobasser Posted May 13, 2022 Super User Posted May 13, 2022 White, wht/chart, black. 2 Quote
HookInMouth Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 For most topwaters I pretty much go black or white. Sometimes a chrome for a walking bait. 3 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 13, 2022 Global Moderator Posted May 13, 2022 I use solid black and solid white bodies, 3/8, 1/2, and 3/4oz. Quote
DaubsNU1 Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 ^^ Same ^^ Solid black, or solid white. Mainly 3/8 oz. I like the triple bladed baits...I can work them slower and stay in strike zone longer. 1 Quote
Super User DitchPanda Posted May 13, 2022 Super User Posted May 13, 2022 Black and white...not sure I need white 1 Quote
Super User Bird Posted May 13, 2022 Super User Posted May 13, 2022 Black and white here as well but only throw 3/8. Quote
Super User WRB Posted May 13, 2022 Super User Posted May 13, 2022 Black w/gold blade single buzzer and pearl white-chartreuse w/chrome blades double buster. Tom Quote
GRiver Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 I went to Walmart, they are a dollar there. I think I’ve got every color they have and duplicates of some , white, black and chartreuse. Got their spinner baits too. You might have to tweak them a little bit, but they do catch fish. An inexpensive way to get started in buzz and spinner baits, plus I don’t feel as bad when I loose one. 1 Quote

Super User NorthernBasser Posted May 14, 2022 Super User Posted May 14, 2022 Also, do yourself a favor and throw it on a 7+ speed reel if you can. Makes life so much easier. 2 Quote

A 7.1 might not hit that...my Supreme 7.1 and my Patriarch 7.1 only hit 29-IPT So my Patriarch 7.9 (32-IPT) and Fuego CT-XS (33.9-IPT) are what I toss buzzers on. 3 Quote
Super User Columbia Craw Posted May 14, 2022 Super User Posted May 14, 2022 Black on black and silver on white. Toads at the trailer. That covers it for me. Quote
river-rat Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 I've been using buzz baits since they came out in the mid to late seventies and I keep it as simple as possible. I only use the following. White body (skirt or Toad) with a Gold blade during the day. Black body (skirt or Toad) with a Black blade early morning/overcast skies/late evening. Chartreuse body (skirt) with a Chartreuse blade as a change-up. Most importantly, I want the blade to squeak as I'm retrieving the lure. I have no confidence in a buzz bait until it starts to make that sound. 3 Quote
Super User Catt Posted May 15, 2022 Super User Posted May 15, 2022 Black or white 1/4, 3/8, or 1/2 oz Cavitron, Boogerman, Lunker Lure Klacker or not 1 Quote

I crimp the rivet in place then squeeze the lip of the rivet and prop with a pair of pliers as hard as I can creating little ridges , It will squeal .. Quote

Super User Bankbeater Posted May 15, 2022 Super User Posted May 15, 2022 Most of the time it's a 1/2 white. Quote

I prefer a slow retrieval rate, my favorite is 5.0:1. I want that buzzbait struggling to stay on top. Now when I throw a buzzbait it's usually dark outside! Quote
Super User WRB Posted May 15, 2022 Super User Posted May 15, 2022 Double buzzers craw along slower on the surface. Tom Quote
Drew03cmc Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Black and white are the only 2 colors I need. Quote
