I like 3/8 the best, but use others also.

Black, and I'm either throwing 1/2 or 1/8.

I use solid black and solid white bodies, 3/8, 1/2, and 3/4oz.

^^ Same ^^

Solid black, or solid white. Mainly 3/8 oz.

I like the triple bladed baits...I can work them slower and stay in strike zone longer.

I went to Walmart, they are a dollar there. I think I’ve got every color they have and duplicates of some , white, black and chartreuse. Got their spinner baits too.
You might have to tweak them a little bit, but they do catch fish.

An inexpensive way to get started in buzz and spinner baits, plus I don’t feel as bad when I loose one.

Also, do yourself a favor and throw it on a 7+ speed reel if you can. Makes life so much easier.

Depends on the reel - I like the IPT for buzzbaits to be 30+. A 7.1 might not hit that...my Supreme 7.1 and my Patriarch 7.1 only hit 29-IPT

So my Patriarch 7.9 (32-IPT) and Fuego CT-XS (33.9-IPT) are what I toss buzzers on.

I've been using buzz baits since they came out in the mid to late seventies and I keep it as simple as possible. I only use the following.

White body (skirt or Toad) with a Gold blade during the day.

Black body (skirt or Toad) with a Black blade early morning/overcast skies/late evening.

Chartreuse body (skirt) with a Chartreuse blade as a change-up.

Most importantly, I want the blade to squeak as I'm retrieving the lure. I have no confidence in a buzz bait until it starts to make that sound.

I prefer a slow retrieval rate, my favorite is 5.0:1.

I want that buzzbait struggling to stay on top.

Now when I throw a buzzbait it's usually dark outside!

Double buzzers craw along slower on the surface.
