Search came up empty but I know this was discussed before. Who here has made baits using tin and or bismuth? I have someone that asked me about making some heads using it. All I know about them is they both have a lower melting point than lead. Thanks in advance.

I have been using this alloy for several years now. I cure powder paint at 325º for an hour for a full cure.

Allen, you must coat the mold with Frankford Arsenal Drop Out (available from amazon.com) because bismuth expands as it cools.

I set Lee's Pro Pot IV at "3".

Great info.

Lead is illegal in my state, so I've used that alloy too. Best to get it out of the mold asap. I've had Neds get stuck in the mold due to expansion,  which is a pain.

Isn't tin (per volume) lighter than lead?

I buy a tin bismuth jig from Jades Jigs and on their site they say it runs about 20% lighter than the respective lead head size.
