@A-Jay

We had a Husky named Boo fir about 6 yrs when the kids were little.
He looked almost identical to Tucker.
His blue eyes cut right though me.

After we lost him we decided it would be too tough to get another, because there wouldn’t be another like him.

Over the years we’ve had 4 Great Danes from a 90 lb female to a 140 lb male and I swear none of the 4 were as strong as our Boo!

Point is….I get it

Again, So sorry

Mike

So sorry, @A-Jay.  Doesn't get much worse.  I grew up with a Husky and he was such an amazing dog.  Slept in my bed with me when I was little and would then sleep next to it when I got too big for the both of us.  Didn't think I could have a stronger bond with a dog until I purchased and cared for my own.  In a few days I'll be without her for a year.  Still hurts enough I'm not going to work that day.  Point being, you clearly have a bunch of members on here that feel your pain with you.  And while it takes a while for things to improve, hopefully they will in knowing you gave your buddy the best life you could, and in return you loved him enough that it made you feel how you do now.  Thinking of you man.

So sorry for your loss.  We just went through it with our 2nd Weimaraner.  The pain is real but be comforted by the pease of mind that comes with knowing you did the right thing at the right time.  It’s the best comfort I have found.

Ajay, so sorry Tucker has passed. When my first best friend passed away, my wife and I said no more dogs. That lasted about a year when we realized we love dogs too much. Now we have 2. I feel so lucky we have 2 boys that are amazing dogs and my new best friends. Fishing has suffered because I spend every afternoon with them usually hiking through the woods. No regrets, I wouldn't trade my time with them for anything.

Right off, Thank you so very much for the out pouring of support and the touching condolences.

My wife and I, as well as the remaining pack, really appreciate it.

Over the course of these many years, we as 'dog people', have had quite a few come and go.

Between fostering & re-homing and including own own pack, there's been a fair share of both happiness & sorrow.  For us, regardless of how many times the sad part comes to pass, we take a hit.  Full lives, those cut short & everything in between, they all manage to work their way into our hearts & soul making the good bye that much tougher.

My wife takes them especially hard, every one.

We certainly understand that it's part of the deal we make.

Tucker's sister Fenway is doing remarkably well for an 11 year old Malamute.

Large breeds usually get the short end of the stick on longevity.

Thanks again

Yup my wife still is overcome with sadness over Charlie who as you know we had to let go in February. As I type this I look over at Hank who’s a large breed and they do get the short end of the stick and while he’s still playful he’s slowing down. With any luck he’ll be around for a few more years.

I am so sorry . I'm know you made sure he had a wonderful life and I'm also sure he returned the kindness ten fold . Perhaps a reunion later at the rainbow bridge .
