Lake Isabella is a great looking lake. But, what steers everyone away is the high winds. You fight the winds all day. Also, the local tweekers and crack heads are not helping either.

It’s amazing what kind of folks hang out at boat ramps, I’ve met some characters…..

Back in the 80’s lake Isabella was considered a potential world record bass lake and I wrote a detailed article for In-Fisherman called “A Rare Chance for a World record” in 1986.

Since that time the lake fell on hard times do to the dam being condemned as earth quake unsafe the lake was lowered to 1/3rd capacity.

Wow, that's a heck of a fish right there! My wife was born near there... might be worth visiting.

Good lord she's a brute.  congrats to him!!  The more I fish, the more I'm understanding just how hard it is to land some bass.  Even the smaller ones in the 2-3 lb range.
