Super User roadwarrior Posted May 4, 2022 Super User Posted May 4, 2022 Somehow I have overlooked the bait this year... Rage Tail Baby Craw, T-rigged, 3/16 bullet weight. I fished it today and will be using the bait at some point every time I am out this spring. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Strike_King_Baby_Rage_Craw_3_9pk/descpage-SKRBC.html 8 Quote
Super User T-Billy Posted May 4, 2022 Super User Posted May 4, 2022 I feel the same way about the UV Speed Craw. It aint often I don't have one T rigged. 6 Quote

newapti5 Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 This has been THE smallie lure for me for the last couple of years. I sometimes would twist off the first tip of the body, making it even a bit more shorter. Quote
Super User LrgmouthShad Posted May 5, 2022 Super User Posted May 5, 2022 You got it! Ive got a couple packs of them somewhere Quote

It's a big deal on some of the larger lakes in my area. One of my choice baits for a light texas rig... but particularly in the summer for whatever reason... is the zoom z hog. It has a glide on the fall, similar to the sweet craw that you make. I watched Caleb Kuphall on Guntersville hammer them on that bait on a heavier texas rig in grass and also punching. Looking forward to trying the baby rage craw though 2 Quote

Ditto I don’t use the baby, I’ll just bite off a section or 2 of the standard size if I want a small profile as I always want the larger flappers. Mike 1 Quote

Mike 10-4. We don't have any Florida size basses round here, so I roll with the original. Everything from redears to bass to musky and flatheads eat those suckers. Zoom got it right for sure with this bait. Great craw profile when fishing it on the bottom, great claw action when swimming it. Those long legs make it look bulkier than it is when swimming it too. It's a MUST HAVE bait IMO. I've taken to fishing all my bottom contact plastics on a snelled flippin hook. Hookup percentage is outstanding, and the snell makes the bait land right side up evry time. 1 Quote

They're not all heavy duty. The regular VMC flippin hooks, not the HD's are lighter wire and have a smaller gap. They work great on smaller and more slender baits in lighter/no cover. Available all the way down to #1. 1 Quote
