kayaking_kev Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 I've used these rods for one season and all of them have passed the durability test. I just have too many rods to make good use of them. Some of you have probably seen my rod collection before and know what I'm talking about. These rods might have some minor scuffs or scratches on some of them, especially around the logo section. I only put the rod specs label on one of the customs, but they are easy to tell apart because they are different colors. The epoxy on some of them isn't as perfectly even as some production rods, but those are minor cosmetic issues and in most cases unnoticeable unless you know they're there and they don't affect the performance of the rod. If there ever if a problem with a rod, I will work with you to fix the rod the best I can. Payment for these items will only be accepted from PayPal from the registered email linked to your PayPal account. You will receive an invoice to your email once the terms are agreed to. Once the payment is received, your rod/rods will be shipped with insurance and with sign on delivery. Shipping can be combined for 2 rods, but I don't think I can safely fit any more than two in any of my tubes. SORRY NO TRADES! I'm limited in the number of pics I can upload at once, so I'll try to upload more everyday. But, I'll list the components for the rods below the pics. kayaking_kev Posted May 4, 2022 Author Posted May 4, 2022 I wanted to share a reply I gave to someone asking a question for some more insight on the custom rods for transparency. Quote The SJ & MB 736 are similar, that's why I shortened the SJ. I tend to use the SJ for Jigs & the MB for T-Rigs. I also like to throw chatters and spinners with them both. I would say the sweet spot for the MB would be 1/2 oz. may slightly under, and the SJ about 5/8 oz. or slightly higher. They are true to their ratings. They are really good jig rods, both of them. The MB-736 has the Torzite guides and is very nice looking with the carbon sleeve, fade threading, and color scheme. It doesn't have my big logo on it, instead I named it Athena. The decal does have some damage on it, because it was one I got from mudhole and it wasn't as good as quality as the others from a different place. The epoxy job isn't too bad, you wouldn't know it wasn't perfectly level unless you really stared at it. The SJ-736 has SiC guides and my favorite carbon handle out of all 4 of the carbon handles I have on the rods. It also has a nice blue/gray thread wrap. The decal is just ever so slightly crooked, again another thing you wouldn't notice unless you were staring hard at it. The SJ blank also has the most imperfections on the blank, as it's common for unwrapped blanks to have those little marks, but they don't affect the x-ray blanks. As far as the epoxy and the build quality, this rod and the MB-7109 are pretty well built rods with level epoxy over the decal area, which is the toughest part. As far as which one I like better, it would be a tough call. The MB is a nice looking rod with better guides, but I like the grip on the SJ better and the epoxy and decal are done better. Since, I'm a sucker for looks, I would probably choose the MB-736. I use the MB-7109 for pitching and flipping and the few times when I throw a frog. It's a stout rod, built nice and looks nice, it just has alconite guides instead of torzite or SiC. I've thrown 1 oz. with no problem before, not sure if I tried any heavier as I never used it but a few times. It's also a very nice looking rod, IMO. I ship it in the same tubes as Tackle Warehouse and other places like that do, they aren't PVC, but I pack them as safely as I can with bubble wrap. I've sold a lot of rods and never had a problem with one in shipping. Shipping isn't included, I usually charge $25 for up to two at once, unless you're in California.

DenhamBruce Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 These are super nice rods with A LOT of money down on components. Really good deals as far as the price goes on these custom rods. I would jump on them if I didn't build my own! 1

I'm just wanting some extra cash for a Sportsman 106 MK. I'm very surprised I haven't got much interest in them. I'm not going any lower that's for sure. If I didn't have some other customs, a Conquest and Xtasy I wouldn't be selling them in the first place. 1
kayaking_kev Posted July 13, 2022 Author Posted July 13, 2022 SJ-736 & MB-7109 has been sold. Prices on the other rods will likely go up due to the increase for shipping prices since I last sold any rods.
