What casting rod should I get?

I am in the market of getting a new fishing rod. I am looking for a medium heavy, extra fast action rod for all purpose use but am having trouble finding trusted brands other than lews (nothing against them, just dont want one). what are some good recommendations?

OP, look through the rods on TW.  Not a lot of MH-EF, but most well know brands have at least one or two in various model lines.

Agree, a Loomis MBR, but the JWR line of Loomis rods are the extra fast. Both are excellent.

Budget is the number one question. But if you want to stick to the $100 mark, the Shimano SLX comes in a 7'2" MH/XF.
