So today is my last day at my current job. I will make it a little over a month shy of 15 years. On Monday, I start my new position as a backend developer for a university, creating APIs that fuel both mobile and web apps. This is a very exciting change of pace and will have a bit of a learning curve.

I am both excited for what comes next but it's also a little scary, having been in the same position for so long where I know everything about everything to starting all over again.

Wish me luck!

Just think of it as fishing a new lake, that has many DD bass and you are the first to fish there.

Long commute from N Adams. Had a coworker who worked downtown Boston, commuted from Pittsfield.

Are you working in Boston?

It's fully remote. I may go in to meet people in person but travel is generally not required.

Have no Idea what you're talking about jobwise. Don't know what an API is. Congrats and drive it like you stole it.

I just applied for an instructors position in hvac. Not planning on quitting my current job, just looking to teach in the evenings. My industry is hurting for help. If I can make a difference, I will.

Make sure you teach them to put the plug back in the gas valve after testing the gas pressure before they fire the furnace back up.  Back in the day when I did HVAC I forgot to do that twice! You’d think after I singed my eyebrows I wouldn’t do it again but yup I did. ?
