clemsondds Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Just curious what is the one rod you absolutely love? Right now, mine would be my nrx 803. It's my ned rod and just has great sensitivity and balance 1 Quote

Super User casts_by_fly Posted April 27, 2022 Super User Posted April 27, 2022 Falcon expert 6’10” finesse jig/topwater rod. Just the right amount of power for the baits I normally fish, versatile enough to put basically anything on it, and super lightweight (whole combo is right around 9 oz fully loaded with mono). I have the 7’ 6-power expert on the way though and that might take the crown since I fish the bucoo version so much. 1 Quote
Derek1 Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Right now, it’s the falcon Cara 6’11” heavy. It’s my jig and big paddle tail rod. 3 Quote

Super User MickD Posted April 27, 2022 Super User Posted April 27, 2022 Point Blank PB701MLF blank, built by me into a spin rod, good for everything I've tried it on. I've not found any blanks with as high true natural frequency as the Point Blanks have which probably means they are as sensitive or more sensitive than any other blanks I've tested, and I've done quite a few brands of premium blanks. It clearly indicates the fastest recovery speed of all the blanks. Very light for its power, of course, or it wouldn't have a high true natural frequency. Fuji titanium KLH guide train ending with size 4 KT's, Fuji Ultra Pro Candy Apple wraps, Fuji TVS size 17 seat. 2 Quote
JohnFromLisbon Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Same as @Dwight Hottle and @ATA, the IMX-PRO 844C MBR. I absolutely love that thing. It can do anything. When I want to go light, I'll take that one and the 852S, those pretty much cover everything I throw (even frogs if I downsize them). I'm thinking of upgrading it to the NRX+ this year, though... Let's see. 1 Quote
Super User bulldog1935 Posted April 27, 2022 Super User Posted April 27, 2022 can't do it - there's not a bum in the crowd I could pick a least favorite, Omen Green 7'7" ML spinner, but then I can also pick a niche where it's the exact rod to load in the kayak. 6 Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted April 27, 2022 Super User Posted April 27, 2022 Right now it’s my Falcon Lowrider All-‘Round Fast LFC-7MHF. It’s my primary Texas rig rod. 2 Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted April 27, 2022 Super User Posted April 27, 2022 Right now my favorite is my custom 7 1/2’ shaky rod. It has better feel than my Gloomis rods. Quote

Big Rick Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Picking any single rod would be an exercise in futility for me. I do have favorites that are technique specific. My Expride is my favorite for frogging. Yet my Powell Max's are my favorite for spinnerbaits, senkos and such. I could go on. I guess it all boils down to this point: If a rod isn't my "favorite" for the presentation I have chosen for it then that rod gets replaced until I find that special action, feel, and weight I am looking for in that presentation. Then that rod becomes my favorite... Quote
