Before I had a motored boat.  Just a bicycle.  I had all the creeks checked out.  So I could always have places with the wind blowing across the river to help my casts.

Been really windy here as well the past couple months and it blows even harder on the weekends when I’m ready to go fishing.

She's been Big Wendy out this way too, but I don't typically tap out until we get to 37mph sustained. When it's blowing like that it's a great time to chuck a red eye shad or a jerkbait. It's always a great time to chuck a jerkbait though. I love you, jerkbait. How many times can I say jerkbait? I fish it how I say it in more ways than one

Anyway

I do best in 5-10 but I'll toss around in 25 if I have to

Nothing stops this train

Nothing

except wind over 37mph

I think they said this was (so far) the windiest month in Dallas/Fort Worth since 1996, and the windiest April since 1961

I'd also say this all changes in a boat. I will handle weather in a boat but if I have a choice I want glassy water. Yesterday was the first true 5-10 I can remember having in probably a month or more

I'd rather fish with 3 two year olds then fish in wind.

Braid don't like it either.

I feel your pain. Almost every day off I had for over a month had ridiculous winds that kept me off my kayak. My kayak can handle it with gusts 12-15, but when the sustained winds are 12+ and the gusts are 20+ I don't even bother.

Thankfully, the past few weekends have been low to moderate winds. Now about that blazing hot sun the other day...

Even in sunny So. Cali, the wind has been a thorn in my side for a couple of months now, this isn't normal for us around the coast line.

Now that a pretty bold statement…….or crazy.  I imagined 3 kids whipping their Barbie or Spider-Man poles around. I broke out in a cold sweat.

Gusts to 45.  Tough to also not be bothered by ALL THE POLLEN !!!!

My problem.  Too old for almost all outdoor work in dusty winds. I wear a mask almost all the time outdoors.  What climate change ?    ☠️

Oklahoma is in its own category when it comes to wind  from what I understand

It's mainly just the northwestern through central parts of the state.  In the east and south, where our best lakes are, it tends to be a lot calmer.

As long as the wind is steady and not gustng, I can handle 20mph winds. When they get upwards of 30mph, is when I start talking to myself about getting a fiberglass boat. I can’t imagine fishing from a canoe, or yak.

Around here the March winds aren't as bad as the April wake boats.   The wind make it's hard loading a boat though.   Back in March, in 25 mph winds I caught three 5 pound bass and several smaller ones near a wind blown bank in less than an hour.

Been windy as hell in Chicago. Now that I've been putting around in a 14 footer, Fishing from shore has been the better option this spring.

Here in South Florida, the wind comes down with these fronts that we have almost weekly. And they all seem to come down on a Friday lol This passed weekend we saw 25-30mph with gust into the 40's. As it turns out, the wind plays a BIG factor in fishing, both in catching and in catching BIG. Look at the wind not as a nuisance but as a great opportunity!

In those conditions, I just dont. I have done a little under 20mph on larger lakes, but it is an absolute pain. I lean heavily towards moving baits in a kayak when I am fishing larger lakes, because, well, they are easier to fish. Helps give some background on why I fish spinnerbaits so much

A foot pedal kayak might help some if I had one, but I have a paddle
