Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 27, 2022 Global Moderator Posted April 27, 2022 I got the new St. Croix Legend Tournament "Finesse Glass Cranker" 7' 2" M/M. With a name like that, I thought it was going to be pretty limited in it's abilities, man I was wrong. It's actually a very versatile cranking rod. I've fished a variety of squarebills on it, but also a Spro Rock Crawler, which it handled nicely. I used it with a Spro Essential Series Hunter 65 squarebill to catch 2 of my 5 keepers in my first tournament win of the season. So if you're looking for a nice, all around cranking stick, don't see that word "finesse", and think this rod can't be it. https://stcroixrods.com/products/legend-tournament-bass-2022-new-models 6 Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted April 27, 2022 Super User Posted April 27, 2022 Wait, people actually pay attention to these fancy "names" that manufacturers give their rods? 2 Quote
thunderblack Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 BB - would it be a good 1/2 oz. trap rod or go with the MH M model? Thank you sir 1 Quote
Tatulatard Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 But can it do finesse cranking? How well does it handle 5/16 oz? I mean actually handle that weight as opposed to just being within the rod ratings. I find many rods lower and upper ratings a bit optimistic. I'm in the market for a finesse cranker and like glass sticks. Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted April 27, 2022 Super User Posted April 27, 2022 My kid has the Mojo Bass/Glass version of that rod. It's pretty solid for pretty much any treble hooked lure in its weight range. Quote
Tatulatard Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Also how does the legend tournament glass cranking and legend glass crankbait have the compare in the 7'2" M powers? I woukd like a M powered glass rod that can reliably thrown down to a 1/4 oz with various1/4 hard baits and be my main Bomber 4a, OG Tiny 04 and 3/8 oz cranking stick. I like the colors better in the legend glass over the legend tournament glass. Quote

Thank you sir Yep! That’s all I’ve tried with it so far is traps. Honestly feels like it could handle light T rig or shaky head too. Might try that after work this evening (queue the mad scientist laughter) granted, I think mine is heavier action than @Bluebasser86’s Quote
thunderblack Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Hey TNRiver, So you have the MH M 7-4? Quote
