Delaware Valley Tackle Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Anyone watched any of Iacanelli’s Never Give Up biographical web series? I’m kinda into it. 1 Quote
Super User DitchPanda Posted April 27, 2022 Super User Posted April 27, 2022 I've watched all of it..ive really enjoyed it. Mike gets a bad rap for being loud and crazy but I've always found there is more to him than just that. He's always been one of my favorites. 1 Quote

Super User NorcalBassin Posted April 27, 2022 Super User Posted April 27, 2022 We're all fans of his and, heck, my dad even has an Ike ballcap he wears that reminds him of his best friend he lost to cancer a few years ago ("never give up"). He's great for the sport and does a lot of things to get kids involved... coming from that view of him I enjoyed it. Episode 1 for those curious: 1 Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted April 27, 2022 Super User Posted April 27, 2022 I'm not an Ike fan, never have been. Mainly because of his over the top antics. That just isn't how I conduct myself. That being said, from what I can tell, he has done more for bass fishing (especially youth) than just about any other angler I know of. Outside of a tournament/camera situation, he seems like a great guy. I just can't get over the schtick that he personifies/embraces. 2 Quote
Ravox Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Mike and Zona are too loud for me to enjoy but still respect their work Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted April 27, 2022 Global Moderator Posted April 27, 2022 I’ve been an Ike fan for over 20 years and I’ve read his book a few times and enjoyed that. I’ll have to check this out. Thank for mentioning it. Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted April 27, 2022 Super User Posted April 27, 2022 Any guy who is supposed to be stocking shelves and helping customers at DSG but instead practices pitching in the isles is ok in my book, but hey, I fished right through GQ on a ship, so.... 3 Quote
DinkDreams Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 I really have enjoyed the series so far. As someone relatively new to bass fishing it’s cool to learn about the history of guys I’ve read a lot about. For all his flaws, Ike has always been himself and you have to respect that in my opinion. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted April 27, 2022 Super User Posted April 27, 2022 I guess it's alright. I'll watch a few more episodes. Seems a little drawn out, but I get it. That 'stache is terrible, lol. Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted April 27, 2022 Super User Posted April 27, 2022 who is producing and editing? Quote

I like Ike I can see where you are coming from though I'm not a loud and crazy guy either. He might think we're crazy because we aren't like him haha Quote

If you show too much emotion, you are over the top. I have always just found I am on the mild side when it comes to celebrating. Not saying the opposite is wrong, just not my thing. 3 Quote

He reminds me of Jesse Ventura when he talks, like every single word needs to be emphasized and is so incredible. I've only seen him hosting bass tournaments in the past though. 1 Quote
