How do you know when to switch lures/techniques vs when to try different colors? I guess along those same lines would be how do you what colors to use?

I have my confidence baits on.  I fish each spot with each bait I have rigged up.  If that doesn’t work I will keep 2 rods with confidence baits and the others with a different approach. I love fishing tubes, jigs and t rigs in clear deeper ponds so I’ll have those rigged always. Then try a jerkbait, spinner bait or topwater. I go slow at the start then pick up speed. But most of the time a jig, tube and t rig will get em

I often find myself fishing what I WANT to fish. Yes, I know it sounds dumb but I’d rather catch a couple fish throwing what I enjoy like a topwater, spinnerbait (I enjoy fishing them but can’t catch a cold with one), or a big glide bait. Worms and jigs are just too boring for me honestly. 
 

Now don’t get me wrong, I have plenty of worms and jigs and will use them but I really have to be in a mood to do it.
