Thinking about trying mono in place of FC on my rigs and was wondering.

I fish for bass.

It works well on mine. I have 10 lb. Big Game on two baitcasters and it works great.

Yes but I would go with Sufix Advance. Any other mono will not be sensitive enough if you're used to flouro.

There’s probably been more bass caught on Big Game, a heater and Bud Light than all that fancy stuff combined and multiplied by 4.6

You'll be fine

I threw swimbaits on it for years, it will do fine.

Been using Big Game Mono for years.  I use 20 pound for Rattle Traps and Spinnerbaits.  25 pound for flipping.  It's inexpensive, readily available, easy to cast, hold knots and it works.  Here in Florida, we rarely fish clear water.  Fluorocarbon is not that helpful.  Braid is expensive and is like fishing with cable.  Our bass are bigger and often buried up in cover.  Big Game checks all the boxes.

I use 10lb for small cranks and poppers...15lb for lipless and squarebills ....no complaints. Yes it has some memory but a little spritz of line conditioner and its good to go. Its tough, cheap and castable.

I wouldn't recommend it if you like practicing knot tying and worrying about break offs, for normal humans, yes... :)

It’s funny I see so many people love it but when I tried it hated the handling. So stiff to me anyways. To be fair when I was using it i was new to baitcasters maybe that had something to do with it. Suffix advance or trilene xl worked better until I just switched everything braid to leader

I love it. Fish 10 and 12 lb. Never had a problem.

Putting together a flipping stick here soon. It’ll probably have 15 on it

It is not the best handling line that I’ve used, but in my mind, for how I often like to fish, strength and abrasion resistance are numero uno importance. And big game is just tough as nails. It handles well enough for me but of course not perfectly.

Better lines for the price, Berkley line has been dissapointing with weak spots sporadically randomly on the line right out of the pack on many lb tests and different monos they make. Some better options for the same or less price include

Pline cxx or c20

Sunline super natural

Izorline

Maxima

And I'd rather fish zebco omniflex over Berkley trashy quality lines, it's honestly embarrassing a pure fishing product has such poor quality control

Who flips with 15 lb line?

Never once been broken off using 12,15,20,25,or 30 Big Game pulling in a bass. It's stupid strong. Plus, you get a half mile of line for 10 bux. If you somehow mange to nest a spool beyond repair, who cares? Re-spool for peanuts. It also responds well to line conditioner if you're into that sort of thing. There are better lines out there, but for the price? Maybe on another planet.

I use 8 and 12 pound on several reels.  Don't use line conditioner.  Hold rod tip in water for first few retrieves.  No problem after that.  I find it to be looser on the spool the first couple casts than Siege.  Siege looks like a slinky in front of the reel....after sitting quite awhile, yet doesn't give me the loose coils on the spool that Big Game does.  (Probably from my lack of skill.)  You shouldn't have a memory problem if fishing on a regular basis.  Some of my reels sit quite awhile before getting used.

You might try a couple co-polymers....McCoy Mean Green ($25 for 1000 yds 12#) or Izorline XXX ( $17 for 1100 yds 12#).  Both get good reviews.  I'd guess from the reviews I've read that both handle better than Big Game.  Have some of both to try, but only been out once with McCoy and not yet with XXX.

Big Game Clear is $11 for 1175 yds of 12#.  Pretty hard to beat that price.  Prices from TW.  Might find for less elsewhere.

I use 10 and 15lb for moving baits. I find it very stretchy and don't like it for jigs and such.
