I like Invizx as a fluoro but I don't use it as a leader material. I also really like mono/co-polymer leader so you can choose that too. Yo-Zuri Hybrid, Trilene XT and Big Game all get some use for me.

To connect my braid to the leader, I like an Alberto knot. Much simpler and easier to tie than an FG knot. It's never failed me. Knots to my lures, I use a Palomar or Trilene knot. They work well for me so I never bothered to try anything else.

Are you wanting to put a FC leader on with the Basix?  The other knot will just create another weak point if the original is line is bad.  I would try out a different bait first and for knots, I like the San Diego Jam Knot for FC. Once you gain some confidence in the line and the knot, switch over to your Megabass lure.  If the line doesn't suit your needs, take it off and go to 12lb Invizx and repeat the process.

Is this for a baitcaster? If so, 30lb is about the thinnest line you want to use.....Spinning gear, different story.

I would look at the diameter of the line and try to come close to that for your leader. So 30lb braid would be equivalent to about 15lb leader.

My favorite is Sunline Xplasma with a Seaguar Gold Label leader.

On my finesse rig I use 6# InvizX as leader with my 10# 832 - FG knot works great and InvizX is a quality line.

From reviews, BasiX is a decent line despite the low price - I'd give it a try as a leader.

I've used a bunch of leader brands and the best are:

- Sunline FC Leader (you get 50yds)

- Seaguar STS Stealhead/Trout (up to 15lb test and you get 100yds)

- Seaguar STS Salmon for 20lb+ test. (also 100yds)

I've used the Seaguar STS for trolling Salmon on Lake Ontario. Holds up to the shock of a 30lb King ripping a bait off a dipsy rod with steel wire main line. Tough stuff.

There are other great ones but most only give you 25yds. The quality to price factor for the ones I listed are excellent.

Alberto knot is great and easy to tie. I use the Orvis knot to tie to the lure/hook.

Sunland FC100 leader is the best for this application. I do remember that there is another leader material that have same properties but I cant remember which one, The Important about FC100 is. The line is Fluorocarbon with all properties PLUS it is stretching and make it very good for hard lures with tribal hooks.
