I moved to Norther Virginia about six years ago from Northern New York. About a year ago I started to fish the Potomac River for bass. I quickly learned it is much different fishing than the small mouths of Lake Ontario or the St. Lawrence. Several times people have suggested to read Ken's books on the Tidal Potomac. I have looked and looked and can not find them available. Does anyone know where I could find copies of his books? Or someone I could borrow them from so I could read and take notes. I would pay for the shipping if required or come to you if your near the area and compensation you for your time.

Yeah, those are two completely different rivers for sure. The Potomac is really 2 fisheries, normally broken down into the upper, and lower or tidal portions. I fished up from Clayton to Chippewa, and that Gobie infested paradise kicked my butt for 2 and a half days until I figured some things out. We are headed to Massena in a couple of weeks (not my choice) to do God knows what. Ken Penrod is a funny guy, but I don't think it's intentional...

I'm getting old and can't keep track of my car keys, but I'm pretty sure I put one in my cart earlier.

Steve Chaconas guide page (National) has good seasonal info.  It used to have some very detailed pages, but they were pulled a few years ago....maybe a book on the way?

I have Penrod's tidal Potomac book that I can loan to you.  I'm in Woodbridge on weekdays.  Can meet up of convenient for both of us.  Or we can work something out.  PM to work out details.

Do you have a VCR in storage somewhere? I have the VHS tape he made about fishing the Tidal Potomac.
