Im looking to get a crankin rod that will cover most mid to deep divers. Not looking to spend too much since this isnt a huge thing I do but I have a 5:5:1 curado sitting so I figured Id grab a rod to pair with it.Looking for sub 200,Ive looked at the SLX Glass ands Mojo and liked then, thinking a heavy mod or mod fast.

Had a mojo Bass Glass a few years ago when I used to deep crank and loved it. I don't see the need for a heavy action for crankbaits, most I would go is a MH but that's just me. I had the 7'2M and it was very comfortable, never got wore out on the retrieve. Think I paid 150-160 for it.

Have you looked at Lews kvd composite  rods? Or the xd  lines. Might find what you're looking for and under your price point. Use the quantum kvd tour composite  rods which are no longer available.  7'4 to 7'6 good options or even a bps  crankin stick. Mh should cover everything other then say 8xd or 10xd size cranks

All purpose and cranking is not a thing, probably one of the presentations that actually lends itself to particular specific rods. That being said, the depth, size, and pull of the baits will determine what rod will work well (or not work well). If you are talking DD22s or Larger SKs or the like, that is going to require a lot more rod than say a Bandit 300, or Fat Free shads or the like. The BPS cranking sticks are good, reasonable, and they offer quite a few options. I like 3 different rods for cranking, and 2 would be the minimum, could it be done with one rod? yeah, I can (and have) hammered a nail with a large crescent wrench in a pinch, but not something I would want to do on a regular basis. If you list the baits you plan to throw, that will help narrow it down to specific rod models.

St. Croix Legend Glass.  It's a few bucks more but worth it. I have more expensive cranking  rods but this one is my favorite.  It's built perfectly for the job.

Is there a particular model you could suggest that would work for 5xd and 6xd? If it’s too wide of range I guess I’m more interested in 5xd rod. Thanks

I have the 7'2'' Med and it can throw a 5xd with no issues but a 6xd maybe pushing it.  The 7'4'' MH might be a better choice for anything bigger than the 5xd.

Also do yourself a favor and change the hooks on those baits. They are just, in my opinion,  bad. The bait on the other hand,  is great.

I picked up an ALX Ikos Hustler a few weeks ago, and boy does it cast well and loads up like butter.

It's a shallow/medium diver rod, but I believe there is a deep diving rod in the Ikos lineup.

Thanks, I don’t actually throw those specific baits but they seem to be a good reference point since they are very popular. Wish Rapala dt also had better stock hooks , I’ll gladly pay higher price rather than change hooks myself lol.

For the Rapala DTs, the Med would be fine.

Not sure how what I typed above got posted twice.?

I would consider a glass composite crank bait rod for better lure feedback. This opens the door to wider choice of brands.

If you can swing it, I'd second the St. Croix Legend Glass. The MH would also work for fishing bladed jigs.

Cranks that run 10ft to 25ft max. That why im looking at a heavy since cranks that run those depths fit in the weight range of the rods. Some might be lighter or heavy but most of what I need will fit in with the rod.

Im going off the weight of the lure, most deep cranks that I would use fit into the 1/2 oz to 1 1/2 oz for the heavy

I'd recommend the slx or intenza rods, they are awesome for the money.

I'm a big fan of the Kistler feel N reel series. The 7'3" is a great all-purpose model. I throw everything frow wiggle warts to 6xd's on it as well as Chatterbaits and big topwaters like the Plopper and Mega- dawg
