Curious on when everyone uses these knots and and for what type of baits? I've always just tied a uni style knot for everything I throw but realize now that it may be hindering my success with certain baits.

What I mainly use are:

Flukes

Senkos

Shallow diving Crankbaits

Topwater prop baits/poppers

Bass jigs

Spinnerbaits/buzzbaits

I'm curious as to what type of knots you all use for different baits or if you just use one knot for everything?

You don’t miss anything but headache. I tie uni knot for everything. Nowadays some hard bait that require loop knot also come with split ring, eliminate the need loop knot.

I still do loop knot when bobbers fishing, and Palomar knot for dropshot sometime.

Orvis knot for fluoro/mono.  Double San Diego jam for braid.

Split rings for cranks so I don't use a loop knot.

Me too! It’s so much easier to tie on a boat. My fingers are to chunky for most knots. wish I hadt the hand dexterity of Hank Parker and Shaw Grigsby. Going to start practicing the SD Jam though.

The only loop knot I use is for live bait salt water fishing.

I am using Mono or FC line with the Perfection loop knot with 20# to 100 lb line.

Tried the Rapala knot years ago using the original Rapala Minnow lures. Learned to tie the San Diego Jam knot and tied direct to the Rapala no reason imo to use a loop knot with 6 to 8 lb  mono.

I use the Palomar knot for hooks and clips. Today my preferred clip/snap is Owner Hyper Weld #2 for crank baits.

Double Uni for line to leader and Double Davy knot for terminal, can't be any simpler.

FG for line-leader

Uni-Snell for punching

MK for everything else

Where some would use a loop knot - I use a teardrop split-ring.

I switched to uni knot for everything a couple years ago and works well for me

I use a loop knot for vertical jigging and topwater. It allows free movement. It’s not a super strong knot, so I don’t use it below 6 lb test. I’ve never heard of a snug knot, have to look it up. Most of the time I use a uni knot for terminal and connecting knots. It’s easy and strong.

SD Jam has taken over for me because I tie it correctly a majority of the time, and know immediately if I didn't.
