Luke Barnes Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 The drop shot. So many people on here and the pros say I couldn't get bit except on a drop shot. The principal behind them is great and I think they should work amazing but for me they don't except.... For Panfish. I used to keep a tiny drop shot tied on and could slam the Panfish but ive only ever caught one bass on one. I retied that rod with something else and it probably won't get a drop shot tied on again this year. Quote

Super User Bird Posted April 15, 2022 Super User Posted April 15, 2022 I actually have a witness on a bait that only gets wet, nothing else. Had a big isolated lay down and threw a chatterbait several times, nothing. Next cast with a Spinnerbait caught a fish and following cast with a swim jig produced another fish.......SO NO, Chatterbaits never " finally started to work ". BUT my least favorite baits to throw are crankbaits. I love hanging around heavy cover......so do crankbaits. Lol Quote
DaubsNU1 Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 I finally put some fish in the boat with a square bill. It's soo darn mossy here in Nebraska in the summer...pain to fish any cranks. But this winter - spring I finally found some success. Caught a ton of fish last year on the NED. Liked that very much. I'm pretty confident with NED, spinnerbaits, Senkos, buzz-baits, ploppers, and even the old Slug-Go's! Need to get better with -- drop shot, jigs, jerk baits, c-rigs and shakey heads. 1 Quote
