Super User A-Jay Posted April 9, 2022 Super User Posted April 9, 2022 First Day Qualifying Round Group A ~ Missed the first period of this one. During this 2nd period Alton Jones Jr just broke off a potential $25,000 fish. Oh Man ! A-Jay Quote

Global Moderator Mike L Posted April 9, 2022 Global Moderator Posted April 9, 2022 Of Course they were, Don’t doubt it one bit. The majority of all fish caught were probably on it. Mike Quote
Super User T-Billy Posted April 9, 2022 Super User Posted April 9, 2022 Lol. I know. Just stirring the pot a little. ? 4 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted April 9, 2022 Author Super User Posted April 9, 2022 Day 1 is in the books. Ott DeFoe barefooted his way to the top of the leader board with 35 lbs. Saw some sight fishing today . . . #inthemouth A-Jay Quote
Super User T-Billy Posted April 9, 2022 Super User Posted April 9, 2022 It'll be interesting to see how both the anglers and all those shallow fish adjust to several days of high wind. 1 Quote
SC53 Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 Tournament’s as old school as you can get? Scissor flipping, frogs, buzz baits, swim & vibe jigs fishing brush, trees and stumps. No live scopes, even checking water depth with their rods (which we always called a Florida depth finder?). 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted April 11, 2022 Author Super User Posted April 11, 2022 Qualifying – Day 2 - Group A - Period 1 S L O W so far today ~ A-Jay Quote
InfantryMP Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 They use MLF boats during these events. I know Fletcher was a bit frustrated on Day 1 with the boat he was in. Wheeler has been non existent in this tournament. It is odd to see him not in the top 5. I am glad to see Ott doing well though. He and Texas go together well! Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted April 11, 2022 Author Super User Posted April 11, 2022 Wheeler's usually 'practicing' half way through day two. Also, Wesley makes me laugh. A-Jay 1 Quote
Super User Tennessee Boy Posted April 11, 2022 Super User Posted April 11, 2022 I'm an Ott Defoe fan but it's hard for me to watch him fishing with no shoes. I could never walk around all those hooks with bare feet! 3 Quote

ryanerb Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 Yeah, pretty awesome fishing! FYI, maybe the admins can move your post to another thread that's been going on... Quote
ryanerb Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 Gotta love this tourney for wheeler, livescope isn't going to be a big player. Some true old school bass fishing. I LIKE IT!! Is Tak throwing a chatterbait or just pure swim jig? He's throwing it pretty deep into cover, I wouldn't think a regular chatterbait would come cleanly through that stuff and he would snag more... (like I snag with chatterbaits...) Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted April 11, 2022 Author Super User Posted April 11, 2022 With just over an hour of fishing time left Wesley Strader is one decent scoreable bass below the cut line. He just lost what looked like a likely candidate boat side. After which WS proceeded to 'throw a conniption fit'. Although carried out off camera, it is easily identified by a spontaneous outburst of anger or frustration. Wild animation, gesticulations, and flailing of limbs often accompanies said outburst, adding visual flavor to the experience. #beenthere A-Jay 1 2 Quote
InfantryMP Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 It is getting interesting here down to the last 35 minutes or so. Wheeler is clawing back, Ish is getting some distance. Its coming down to the wire with a few guys! Quote
ryanerb Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 Strader has lost more fish than I can even count... I wonder why? Me feels like he's definitely HORSING them too hard, just my .02 cents.... 1 Quote
InfantryMP Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 All of the anglers are in MLF boats, promoting the MLF sponsors. Strader wanted to drop some F bombs hardcore after losing that fish. I do not think it was the 25K fish, but it was decent. I also agree that he should have slow rolled that fish a bit better. Quote

Thanks for the details. Yeah, I don't know if it was bigger than the Roy 6-09. Quote

Especially after I’ve gotten stuck for the 15th time and had to break off again. Maddening I say 1 hour ago, ryanerb said: Strader has lost more fish than I can even count... I wonder why? Every time any of my buddies loses a fish, my friend will says “you horsed him.” So of course then we all started saying it, like clockwork 1 1 Quote

Not Ike level, but close sometimes. Can't say that I'd fair any better with that much $$$ on the line. 1 Quote
