the tournament reel is the answer to the title of the thread taken out of context.

In the context of the OP's actual question, he is asking for something modern that may cast farther than the reels he already owns.  The general answer and consensus is that he's already there with what he has.

The way to improve on what he has is casting a lighter weight spool (with better spool bearings)

Op has a steez hlc.  I highly doubt any of the reels listed could even match an hlc.

i just got a tatula elite, that thing can cast a mile . yes steez hlc cast furthest .

Pretty sure just about any reel will bomb a 3/4oz weight!

but the gears wear out fast.

I use a Tatula Elite for C-rigging... bombs them 20% farther than any other reel I’ve owned...

i just got mine, wow blow my mind . how far that thing can cast.

Where's the proof or testing to prove this?

I think once you fish something on the level of smoothness like the zillion 1000, antares or steez a then other reels feel like the gears are "bad or "wore out" by comparison. That's how I feel after getting the zillion 1000 and alphas 800.  All my tatulas feel grindy but they were always that way and I didn't know any better until I touched the zillion.  My many tatulas still work just fine.  They gears aren't going to fall off.

This is so true ?

Happened to me down south just this weekend. I was throwing swimbaits on my Antares monster Drive then switched to my "beater" combo I use to fish live shiners for peacocks and was like WTH!

I got the new Steez HLC a couple of months ago. I put in ZPI bearings before taking it out. That is one hot reel. I have to keep everything pretty tight. It is too wild (at least for me) to cast bulky baits, but it is great for lipless crank baits and other heavy small profile lures. I also have Tatula and Zillion HLCs.

Casting distance (with new Steez HLC) is about the same as my other Steez A with ZPI spools and bearings.

An old washed up ball player with warning track power like me - can occasionally launch it over the Green Monster with that reel

Is that the original zillion HLC or the newer t wing one?

i just got my xtasy 755c, i want to get a new reel to pair with it. i fish carolina rig and throw 3/4 oz sinker most of the time, what reel can cast the farthest? i have steez tw hlc and antares dc they cast pretty far, im happy with them. im wondering if there are any choices for a bomb cast. thanks !

Go with a new Lew's BB1 LFS tournament pro reel. It's specifically designed for distance.

All my tatulas feel grindy

Sorry. No they don't, and saying so is overblown and leads new guys and non-mechanically inclined people to believe this. The pulsing felt with mediocre gear meshing, or geary, is far from grinding. "Grinding" sounds like "Scraping' to the average person, and does not accurately describe what's happening at all. I own a ton of reels across manufactures. The least smooth amongst them is geary, but it doesn't "Grind" or "Scrape".

So "geary" instead of "grindy".  Same thing but I guess one is a bit less alraming sounding than the other.  They work just fine but aren't as "refined" I guess as the zillion.

Oh and I do have a tatula sv that does make scraping noise when the handle is spun.  It's not super loud but there is a scraping sounds.  It's not spool related because it doesn't do it when the spool is spun. Only with the spool in and the handle spun.  Never did tear it down to cure it.  Goes to show how much I really care about the noise I guess.  This same one is also my most geary tatula too.
