Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 11, 2022 Global Moderator Posted April 11, 2022 When I say moss, I'm talking slimey algae. It's pretty bad almost everywhere here right now. My fingers are stained from the pulling so much of it off my baits last weekend. 2 Quote
thediscochef Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 My usual spot has a healthy set of hydrilla plumes, with other grasses like pondweed. There's also a bit of filamentous algae but it's not thick. I usually start around the edges of the weeds by a few feet, and work my way in. Typically works out if there's fish there. But doing that from the opposing bank has certainly honed my casting skills, especially with a jerkbait 2 Quote

Exactly like @WRB mentioned the bass maybe farther from the "mat" but still under the grass. Think ripping a Rat-L-Trap It's what we call bonus fish How do you determine/find the structure under the weeds/grass if no topo map, without going over it first? 1 Quote
